You feel stuck or worn down
Anxiety, panic, depression, mood changes, sleep problems, and life transitions can affect how you feel at home, at school, or at work.
Virtual psychiatric care in Texas
Thoughtful evaluations and ongoing medication support for teens 13+ and adults, with secure video appointments across Texas and in-person care available in Austin.

A clearer next step
When anxiety, low mood, sleep changes, or other mental health concerns keep taking up space, finding the right support can feel like one more hard thing to organise. Online psychiatric care gives you a private, convenient place to talk through what is happening with a clinician who takes the time to listen.
Renewed Hope and Wellness serves teens 13 and older and adults throughout Texas. Your appointment is held by secure video, so you can meet from a private location where you feel comfortable. If you are in the Austin area, in-person appointments are also available.
Book an AppointmentIs this the right fit?
An appointment can be a useful starting point when your usual ways of coping are not enough, when symptoms have changed, or when you want help understanding what support may fit.
Anxiety, panic, depression, mood changes, sleep problems, and life transitions can affect how you feel at home, at school, or at work.
If a medication has not felt effective, has caused side effects, or simply needs a thoughtful review, ongoing care gives you room to talk through the next step.
You do not need a diagnosis or a perfect explanation before you book. The first visit is designed to understand your full picture and decide together what may help.
What virtual care looks like
Care designed around you
Every visit is with LaShondra Kale, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, founder of Renewed Hope and Wellness. With more than 13 years in nursing across long-term care, NICU, home health, school nursing, and psychiatric settings, she brings a broad perspective to each conversation.
Your first evaluation is a chance to discuss current concerns, your health history, past treatment, medications, and the goals that matter to you. Follow-up appointments build on that conversation. Care can include therapy-informed support, practical strategies, and medication management when it is appropriate.
The practice focuses on effective non-controlled medication options. Controlled medications, including stimulants and benzodiazepines, are not prescribed. If that type of treatment is clinically indicated, the practice can help point you toward a provider who offers it. Clarity about that boundary early on helps you choose care with confidence.
Explore psychiatric evaluationsBefore your first visit
Set aside a private, quiet place with a dependable internet connection. Have a photo ID, current medication list, and any past treatment information nearby if you have it. It can also help to jot down a few changes you have noticed, questions you want to ask, or goals you would like to work toward.
If you have worked with a therapist, primary-care provider, or another prescriber, you can note what has been helpful and what has not. That context can make it easier to decide what to explore together, but it is never a requirement for scheduling.
You do not need to sort everything out before your appointment. Many people book because they are unsure what they need, not because they already have a plan. The purpose of an evaluation is to create that clarity together.
Insurance options vary by state and plan. Call or text 737-234-6591 if you would like to ask about current coverage before you schedule. Private-pay pricing is also available to review before you book.
Make the visit your own
There is no script for a psychiatric appointment, but it can be helpful to think about what you most want to understand. You may want to ask why a symptom is showing up now, whether medication could be useful, what side effects to watch for, or how therapy and medication care can work together. You may also want to talk about sleep, stress, school or work demands, family changes, or previous care that did not feel like a fit.
A virtual visit is still a real clinical conversation. The screen changes the setting, not the attention you receive. If you are worried about privacy at home, consider using headphones, sitting in a parked car in a safe location, or choosing another private space where you can speak freely. The practice will help you understand the logistics before your first visit.
Virtual care can be especially practical when travel, work schedules, caregiving, or distance from an Austin office would otherwise delay support. It does not mean your care is less personal. Your clinician can still hear what has changed, help you weigh options, and build continuity from one appointment to the next.
If you are in immediate danger or having a mental health emergency, call or text 988, call 911, or go to the nearest emergency room. Renewed Hope and Wellness does not provide 24/7 crisis services. For ongoing concerns that deserve a thoughtful plan, an appointment is a place to begin.
Questions, answered
Yes. Renewed Hope and Wellness offers secure video psychiatric appointments to patients who are physically located in Texas at the time of their visit. In-person appointments are also available in the Austin area.
Your first appointment can be up to 60 minutes. You and LaShondra will discuss your concerns, health history, previous treatment, medications, and what you hope will feel different. The goal is a clear, collaborative next step, not a rushed answer.
It can. When medication is appropriate, options are discussed in the context of your symptoms, health history, preferences, and goals. Follow-up appointments make room to review progress, side effects, and possible adjustments. The practice focuses on non-controlled medication options.
Renewed Hope and Wellness sees adolescents age 13 and older, as well as adults. A parent or guardian can ask about the scheduling process for a teen by calling or texting the practice.
Choose a private place in Texas with a dependable internet connection, complete your intake forms before the visit, and bring a list of current medications and questions. You do not need to have the right words before you begin.
